4th River Folk Festival 2011

Another great success!

The weather was warm and sunny for the fourth Riverfolk Festival on Saturday 23rd July 2011.

When we arrived to help set up the PA and stage area, the Trout garden was already a hub of industry. Stall holders set up their wares - an interesting selection ranging from Moroccan clothes, jewellery, bags and fabrics, to jams and aloe vera - Bob the landlord was working hard with his band of ‘boys’ putting the finishing touches to the marquees, organising the bouncy-castle and preparing the seating.

The festival started at 12.00 noon and already the garden was full of people.

Penny, Lizzie and the team worked tirelessly all day cooking and serving at the barbecue area and Jan Miller, Chris Kelly and Boran made up over 60 faces on the face-painting stand.

Many children attended and all seemed to have a great day. They were all extremely well behaved and did their families credit.

The day flew past with an even higher quality of music than last years as our local musicians pulled out all the stops in their performances.
